Beven's enthusiasm for triathlons started after his first event. He initially started triathlons to keep fit, but after doing well at a few club triathlons he competed in the 1/2 Ironman in 1996. He progrssed to his first full Ironman in 1997 and has since competed in 11 Australin 1 New Zealand and 4 hawaii world chapionships which he has qualified on 8 occasions. After helping 2 of his mates qualify for Hawaii, Beven decided to complete a level 1 triathlon coaching course and start up his own business called "Trihard personalised coaching", where he can use his passion and experience to help other athletes reach their goals and maximise their potential.
